03:53 - 18 December 2004 toys i had in the 60's: HEY, GUESS WHAT!! today, when i opened my GMAIL, i noticed that now i am able to offer 6 of my pals a GMAIL INVITE!! the life expectancy of this hunk of junk is 2 days! monday is the great wal-mart invasion!! cross ya fingers! the troops here at who did it and ran, ink!! are all assembled, and waiting marching orders!! brand new outta the box computer!! some assembly required!! back in 1965 or there abouts, i was the first one on my block to own a hand held computer!! yes, folks, they had hand held puters in those days! it was the same size as most modern handhelds are today, and even had a stylus! it was made in japan of course, and was made of pure 100% TIN, and had numbers and slots to move the numbers with the stylus! and on the bottem it read "computer" it had 10 rows of numbers and ya took the stylus to the slotted rows and slid them across to do ya "computing" heheheeee! and it cost less than 2 bucks!! all my pals were green with envy, and once the novelty wore off, we went back to doing our usual stuff, getting into messes and what not! we used to pike some junk in the middle of the street and hide and giggle when cars came by and ran over the junk! until a cop came by and told us how dangerous it was for us to do that! and he was nothing nice about it, either!! ya know what i miss doing sometimes? in the wintertime with lotsa snow, we'd grab the back of the trolley and slide along the street/rails in the back! then let go!! usually that resulted in falling on our asses, but it was a whole lotta fun! imagine doing that today!! i'd probabaly get killed, or arrested! heheheheee!! |
