porn banners, society woes
cosmicrayola serves up an interesting topic today; why is it that you can have porn on ya template but not on a banner? basically, thats the question of de day! I am of the generation that children should be seen, and not heard; when the internet came about for public use, i was astounded to see kids using it at the library; and there was no supervision. i believe, and still do, that kids should not have access to the internet. it should be for adults only. if i had rugrats running about, they would not have internet access at all! in todays society, we give children too much leeway; they have use of the internet, they have cell phones, pagers, and the like. we as a society, have somehow lost the ability to control our children. we allow them the ability to talk back. when i was coming up, as much of a smart ass that i was, if i talked back to an adult, any adult, i'd get a swift crack across the jaw, and the occurence would only happen once. and no one pissed and moaned about it. today, if a shot across the jaw was tendered, charges of assault would be filed, and the state would step in! see, THIS is whats wrong with society today, and the reason for no disipline in the home! because a bunch of soft soaks with ZERO EXPERIENCE in raising children decided that if you whack ya kid to disipline, that is akin to child abuse. yes, there are sick bastards out there who do abuse their kids, but administrating corporal punishment is NOT child abuse! we would NOT have even 3/4 of the problems we have in society today, if we as parents were allowed to administer corporal punishment as we see fit.
when i was married, and i had small children, i was a shitty husband, and not a good provider, because i was a stinking drunk. but my children towed the line, did not talk back, said yes sir and no sir, and spoke only when spoken to. we used to get compliments as to how well behaved our kids were. then the friggen state child services stepped in because some asshole seen me disiplining my son, and decided that i was abusing him. i was not. the boy at the time had ran across a major intersection, and almost got hisself smacked by a car! i grabbed ahold of him and warmed his ass but good! and some asshole called the state because that feeble minded person decided i was "abusing" my kid. then, some snotty 20 year old social worker came in and she had admittedly had no experience raising kids, only knew from a friggen textbook from school on how to "properly raise kids" mealy mouth. therin lies the problem we have today in society. no disipline at all! none at home, and none at school! for fear of reprisal from the state. children are committing heinous crimes at 9, 10, 11, 12 even younger! when this occurs, people scream, "wheres the parents?" well, the parents have thier hands tied! duh!

well, i went off on a tangent there!
getting back to the question, why is it that you can have porn on the template, but not on the banner? now theres a grey area there, of sorts. you cannot control the placement of a banner as it pops up willy nilly; (by the way, has anyone seen my banners? i have 2 of em floating about in here, and i have YET to see them myself) but on a website template, if ya see the porn, you can shut the browser off..
seems to me that if you do not allow porn banners running amok on the website, then the same should apply to the website template! isnt it illegal to be showing pornographic pics on the internet anyway? if it is, enforcement is mighty lax.

so, enuff said! what do ya think? i think that if you do not allow porn banners floating about the website, then on the same token you should not allow porn pics on the templates that are on the website. ole bucky is at it again!!
