Supreme Court nominee Sam Alito says the right to abortion is not constitutionally protected!
Court nominee proud of work arguing no constitutional right to abortion!

WASHINGTON - Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito boasted about his work arguing that the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion while trying to get a job in the Reagan administration as a deputy assistant attorney general, according to documents released Monday.

Alito, a federal appellate judge nominated by President Bush to the nations highest court, was a young lawyer working for the solicitor generals office in 1985 when he applied for a position under Attorney General Edwin Meese.

As part of his application, Alito sent in a document saying his work in the solicitor generals office had included helping to advance legal positions in which I personally believe very strongly.

I am particularly proud of my contributions in recent cases in which the government argued that racial and ethnic quotas should not be allowed and that the Constitution does not protect a right to an abortion, he wrote.

That sentence provides one of the first clear-cut statements attributed to Alito about abortion, which will be one of the main topics of his January confirmation hearing as retiring Justice Sandra Day OConnors replacement.

If he gets confirmed, and he will, he will only be one of nine. any attempts to overturn Roe v. Wade will fail, I seriously dont think that the supreme court will overturn this. Personally, i am against abortion, but i believe that a woman has the right to choose, and no one has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body. and along those lines, if someone wants to kill themselves, let em. the gubbermint has no right to tell us what we can do with our bodies. if im inna car, and i dont wanna wear a seat belt, i shouldnt have to be forced to. if i am in so much pain, or if i am incapacited to the point where i cant breathe or function without a machine, no one should dictate to me that i cant die if i want to.

well, anyhoo, its time for bagels and cream cheese and cereal!!
hava fun day!! and keep the cat indoors, its freezo outside!!!!

CORNBREAD RECIPIE!!! YUM!!!
The recipe calls for the corn bread to be baked in the oven in a cast iron skillet. Serve the corn bread at the table directly from the skillet, the benefit being that because the cast iron holds its heat so well, the corn bread stays warm throughout the entire meal.

1 cup self-rising cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup milk
3 Tbsp bacon drippings (warmed to liquid)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup of cooked corn, either fresh, defrosted frozen corn, or drained from a can

1 Preheat oven to 350F.

2 Combine cornmeal, soda and salt. Add remaining ingredients, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.

3 Spoon into a greased 10-inch cast-iron skillet. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 8 servings.
