just some junk today.....
stuff to chew on!
i was on the bus the other day, when i noticed one of those "community gardens" why is it that it seems like every "community garden" i see, they ALWAYS look like a fenced in dump?
i mean, there it is, a parcel of land, usually on a corner of a block, rickety fence, big assed chain around the gate, crayola crayoned sign made of green paper, with somekind of drawing on it symbolising that this is an "organic" garden; but its so dissheveled, heaps of dirt abound; clumps of small trees and plants. these things were supposed to be created to "beautify" a neighbourhood, usually, a slum neighbourhood, where poor people live; but its an eyesore. and the people that put this eyesore there, are usually not from the neighbourhood......
someones idea of a community garden
lil while ago, i asked my pal, the world-famous pie-rat! if'n she would be kindly enuff to goto trader joes and get me a can or 2 of the swell coffee!!! you cant get that good coffee here! i'd be willing to send her a money order, which i did, and yesterday, the good stuff arrived, safe and sound, in the mail! and when i opened it, along with the famous coffee, was a hand crafted hunk of soap that she made with her own hands!!! i wouldnt inna million years know how to make soap; i barely know how to use that stuff!! hahhaaaa! (just kiddin, folks!)
i moved around the furniture a bit yesterday; actually, i started the day before by moving the sofa and the bed, i switched them around, and the cat got confused! so, hes just been sleeping on the floor, refusing to hop up on the bed or the sofa!!
but yesterday, i moved the computer desk and associated junk, and put the dressers where the puter desk was, and put the puter desk where the dressers were!! and the cat was mad!! i positioned the dressers in such a way as so he cannot just jump upon them and open the door to the heater closet!! hehehe. so now, hes just been walking about in circles, not sure what to do! he will be just fine!!!
when i got done, here is a first, folks!! i was stretched out on the sofa, watching law and order in the afternoon on TNT, when all of a sudden, creamy lept up on my chest and made hisself home there for about 10 minutes, then all of a sudden, i was starting to talk with my pal, chaosdaily on the instant messenger, when he leaped up on the windowsill, and fell back down!! the windowsill is not that wide, its like 2 inches or so, and hes a big cat, so he lept up there, and fell right back down! and ran off and hid under the sink in the bathroom! hes ok, just a lil confused!

As consumer demand for online video swells, America Online announced today that it has acquired Truveo, a provider of video search, to boost its capabilities in this area, considered one of the hottest segments of the search engine market.
Truveo, founded in January 2004 and based in Burlingame, California, has developed a "crawling" technology that, it claims, allows it to find and index Web video content that remains invisible to conventional Web spiders.

Truveo calls its technology Visual Crawler because the company says that it can detect video content by identifying visual characteristics similarly to how a human does.
Truveo's approach also allows it to automatically compile and retrieve descriptive information about the videos it indexes. By capturing this metadata, such as a video clip's date, length, title, director, and producer, Truveo makes the content of its index easier to search, according to the company.
AOL plans to integrate Truveo's technology into its video search services in the coming months. Truveo's search engine is available for free.
which tells me now that the EVIL AOL has got its fil-fee mitts on this now, they will charge a fee for it, and i betcha it will be called a "premium service" thus, justifying the fee; money grubbing bass-tids!!
AOL's acquisition of the privately held startup closed in December. Financial details aren't being released.
