i dunno if i mentioned this, but a few weeks ago, i rescued a laptop from the dumpster, complete with nice leather case.
my dumpster, my laptop. neener neener.
a toshiba tecra 720CDT. circa 1996!!!!
when i found this, i knew who tossed it. tuff cookies. all it needed was a power cord. at the time, the federal reserve bank of caldwell was mighty joe young low on spending cash, so i waited until i had some and i went last saturday to ebay, and found a power cord for the low low ebay buy it now price of 22 bux.
yesterday, when i got home from work, the prize package worth a ton of gold to me was waiting patiently for me in my mailbox!!!

so, the moment of truth hath arrived!!
i got the needed power cord, but will it work? will it supply precious electricity to this 10 year old and in great shape for an elderly laptop i may add; and will the afromentioned laptop accept this ressurection from the dead?

later on in the day, im going to the office max down the street, and get a 10/100 PCMCIA network card, so i can get this beast to go online and update everything!!!
when it 1st powered on, the date on it was JUNE 2003!!!!
it has windows media player version 6.01.05.0217 copywrite 1992-1997!! hehehee!! the old timey windows media player!!! remember that one?
to play a ELVIS CD on this, windows media player dont play it, the windows 98 CD PLAYER does!!!

to my surprise, it has innernet exploder 5 on here.
it had a bunch of mormon junk on there, but due to my handy doody deleting skilz, that junk is all gane now.
it dont hava floppy drive, but it has a plug in for an external one.
i cant put XP on there, cos the HD aint big enuff, just 2 gig, but thats the bare minimum, if i do that, it will take up the ENTIRE DRIVE and i wont have room for anything else.
and with just 80 megs of RAM (memory) that is way too low for XP.
but all in all, its okey dokey for me, after all, i dug this outta my dumpster fair and square, and it works just fine.
for 1996!!! hahahhaaha!!! top o' de line back then!
but, its all good!!
the internal speakers work, but i have a pair of external ones that work just fine. and it has a ball mouse in the middle of the keyboard that is fine, but i have an external mouse i put on there, just swell!!!

yesterday was barry bonds birthday. whoop de shit. im fed up with him. he should just retire and go lay down. nuff said on that.
on the way home yesterday, i seen a flyer on a pole, someone is looking for people to work travelling food trucks. those are the food trucks you see at county fairs and carnivals. all that was required from you was that you speak english and have good math skilz. and bring ya bedroll!!
i used to work those, when i was on the street. the pay sucked, but, you ate. and you slept outside. and, sometimes, you didn't get paid. thats when the ass kicking commenced.
and to think, when i seen that flyer, i actually thought about calling the number on the flyer!!! for about 10 seconds. if i was still on the street, i would have gone and done that!! but the 1st thing that came to mind was zipper, and the fact that i dont live that life anymore. im a regular person now, with a job, an apartment, and all the accroutrements that go along with it.
and ya know, its not too bad. living a regular life.
well, thats all the news that you can use for two fer tuesday at woot!! todays two fer is usb powered mouses for the laptop! hehehee!!! this dealie i got dont have any usb ports!!
