oh whatta day in the life!!!!!
good morning earthlings!!! its pogo wednesday!! lets see what pogo has in store for us today!!!
over in woot! the woot! for today is a security cam for 99 bux!!! feeling paranoid? then go getcha a video cam!!!
and now, the job news, brought to you by the smoking monkey, who never seems to run outta cigarettes!!!
��well, after doyle the manager came back from the main office to turn in his resignation letter, he told me that he didnt get a chance to have a sit down with the director, as he was getting ready to go turkey hunting in indiana, but, the director asked him not to do anything rash, and that they will talk when he gets back. he wants to offer doyle another property to live in and manage, this one is away from downtown. and not so much garbage to deal with. if doyle decided to take this property, he will still manage aspenview, and i will have to move back down to the rio grande into doyles apartment there to manage it.
what will happen now is that they will post the opening via company wide memo, and doyle sez that no one will take it. no one wants to manage the rio grande, because of the people there, and where its located. so, when that happens, he will take me down to the main office, and i will fill out a managers application. it will take 3 people to approve it, trish, bip, and the director. i have trish and bip, but i will have to wait til the director comes back from indiana; doyle has mega pull with the director, so hopefully this will be a shoo-in.
so now, i will have to learn the real estate software that we use. yesterday at work, i went thru 100 pages of the manual, then doyle tossed another manual at me. woo!! i have a lot to learn, and i figure i have until january to get my shit together on this. it seems pretty straightforward, but it has its difficulties. i know how to fill out a work order. but i need to learn how to do a move in/move out dealie. he showed me how to document the rents, fill out the deposit slips, and print up a accounts recievable report. then, we done a background check on an applicant, and lo and behold, this particular guy is a multi state sex offender!!!! well, he aint getting in!! so then, i learned how to print up a denial letter.
i already read through the property managers manual, and everything in it i know already. it needs to be updated.
i have a ton of reading and studying to do. like in school.
doyle tells me that bip likes to "control" people. but he cannot control doyle. hehehe. doyle has 2 days longer in the company than him. i told him not to worry, i speak bip language, and i can make it appear that he is in control, when he wont be. this aughta be fun.
i cant believe that this is happening. but it is!! remember back in the beginning of the year, when i told ya that doyle is thinking of retiring around september? and how worried i was about "what the hell will happen with MY job??" and i was kinda like in panic mode? well, doyle has taken care of that for me. like he has taken care of things for me all along. i worry if im gonna have enough hours to pay for things, and its always been unnecessary worry. i cant help that. i always have enough hours to pay rent and bills and what not. doyle has seen to that. he is the best boss i have ever had. i know that things will work out for me with this.
i remember 2 years ago when i 1st met doyle. i was actually afraid of him, and i thought he was an asshole. i was planning at that time just to live at the rio grande for a month or 2 then move on. never in my wildest dreams did i ever imagine that i would get a job working for doyle, and become his assstant, and now, becoming the manager of the rio grande!! wooo!
i havent told moocher or fat jason yet. and im not gonna. moocher came down yesterday and asked me what i was reading, and i said, oh, doyle wants me to learn classic. so he sez oh. moocher been living there for 10 years, and been thru a slew of managers, so he may have a slight inkling as to what is going on, but im keeping my mouth shut; as hard that will be for me, i just wanna tell him whats up, but, thats not my place to tell it. i have to wait, be patient, wait, and learn the job, and concentrate on that. i do not want doyle to retire. i feel that his stress level will go down considerably if he just moves outta the rio and take another property, away from the scumshit he has to deal with everyday. i can deal with the scumshit, i used to be one of em.
lets see what today brings!! i will be at home here, cleaning and vaccuming and doing dishes and collecting rents. doyle will be here later on, to collect some rent checks i have.
im scared shitless about all of this. but it will pass. i dont wanna fail. success is finally at hand, and i dont wanna screw it up!!

lastly, i wanna thank all you fine diaryland pals for all the fun birthday cards i recieved, and all the well wishes!!! i feel like a regular person now, and its good to have such swell pals like all you guys!!
a very special thanky yous to my pal, poolagirl the pie-rat!! when i got home yesterday i checked the mail, and i recieved a birthday card from her!! i opened the enveloupe and what a wonderful surprise that was inside!!!
