Sancta nox, placida nox! Silent night has always been one of my favourite Christmas Hymnals. The first time i heard it i was maybe 4 or 5, and my brother took me to church. we always sat in the back in the last pew, and during the Holy Euchrist, i used to cry, mainly because of the lit candles along with the sheer fright i had of the priest! In my mind, when he said "the body of Christ" and "the blood of Christ" i took that in the literal sense, thinking that the Priest has special powers from God himself, to turn the host into the body of christ and the wine into the blood of christ, i imagined lightning bolts shooting outta the priests fingertips, and that made me wail in fear. But when they played Sainte nuit, i was calm and serene. the way it was sung, and all, calmed me down. it was peaceful, indeed. Elvis Sings, and the 3 translations i grew up on, german, french and latin. if ya dont hear Elvis sing, wait a minute, if ya hear nothing, let me know. it should play in both firefox and IE.
