working and its all right!
howdee folks!! day 2 just expired on the work front, and man was i ever busy as a bee these past few days!!
yesterday, we dished up 220 plates of a chicken dinner, with bread pudding and greens and a flourish of green beans along with a salad, and for Hors�d orderves, i prepared 220 stuffed cherry tomatoes, stuffed with crabmeat!
today, i cooked up 50 pounds of butternut squash by slicing them down the middle, scooping out the innards and seeds, and buttering and salt and sugar on them, then in the oven they went, and they cooked up nicely; whilst that was brewing, i diced and carmellized a 6" deep pan of onions, then when the squash was cooked, let em cool for a while and stuff some more cherry tomatoes, then, back to the squash, scooping the squash, then puree'd them! finally, juilenne some onions and then peeled 25 pounds of red onions. the time goes by so quickly at work, they keep ya going. its good hard work, and i am learning a lot.
tomorrow i go in and we will be preparing some 75 sandwiches for a group, then i dont know what all else there will be to do.
my back is killing me and my legs are sore. all i need now is a regular place to live. that will come soon enough. payday is NEXT friday, every 2 weeks thereafter. i make 10.50 an hour to start, and so far i have worked a lil over 14 hours.
so, now its time to go stand in line with the rest of the tramps and get some jesus talked at me, (YOU NEED TO BE SAVED TO GET OUTTA THE SITUATION YOU ARE IN, AND TO GET TO HEAVEN!!!)
right now, heaven for me will be a nice hot bath and a BED to sleep in. in the mission, you sleep on a MAT on the floor!
oh well, im not hungry, im warm, i can shower and shave, and i sleep at night indoors. 75% of the planet would trade places with me! we are lucky to be living inna country where if you have no home, you can goto a place and get fed and sleep indoors for free. and for that, i am grateful!
