bleah, without the 'c'
bleah!
ya im feeling bleah, not bleach, but bleah. left out the c on this one.i was gonna record another podcast for ya, but i just cant get it together this morning. i hope its not gonna be one of those days!!!
not much happening here, cat screaming in my ear @ 2:45 on the dot! and i have to work today. its just as well. i was bound to wake up anyway.
im not feeling particular spry today. just bleah. without the c.
today is nov. 21st. and 42 years ago today, President Kennedy started in on the fateful trip to Dallas.
and 14 years ago, I was awaiting The Verdict. we all know how that turned out, cause I'm here.
and 519 entries ago, i arrived safely here in diaryland! today, i have listed 48 peeps who read the daily drivel. not bad, i dont think.

Nation mourns bird killed in domino shooting
AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch animal lovers are mourning a sparrow shot dead after it fluttered into an exhibition hall and knocked over thousands of dominoes set up in preparation for a world record attempt.
The sparrow will be commemorated in a live Dutch television broadcast of the domino-toppling Friday after a wave of national outrage at the shooting.
"We know we are responsible for a lot of emotion in the country and we realize we couldn't go on without properly marking this," said Jeroen van Waardenberg, a spokesman for reality TV company Endemol, the firm behind "Big Brother."
An exterminator shot the sparrow Monday in the northern city of Leeuwarden after fears the bird could upset more of the 4 million dominoes which staff had spent weeks balancing on their edges for the record attempt.
Dutch animal rights groups are outraged, especially as sparrows are a protected species in the Netherlands.
Hundreds of condolence messages have been posted on a website for the sparrow (www.dodemus.nl), which has attracted 200,000 hits.

"Deferred Success" is new term for failure?
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - In 2005, some people wanted the word "brainstorming" replaced by "thought shower" so as not to offend people with brain disorders, and they also wanted "deferred success" to replace "failure" so as not to embarrass those who don't succeed.
Both phrases appear on a tongue-in-cheek list released on Thursday of the year's most politically correct words and phrases issued by Global Language Monitor, a nonprofit group that monitors language use.
The phrase that topped this year's list was "misguided criminals," one of several terms the British Broadcasting Corporation used so as not to use the word "terrorist" in describing those who carried out train and bus bombings in London that killed 52 people in July, according to Paul JJ Payack, the head of Global Language Monitor.
He added, "The BBC attempts to strip away all emotion by using what it considers 'neutral' descriptions when describing those who carried out the bombings in the London Tubes."
Second on the list was "Intrinsic Aptitude," a phrase used by Harvard University President Lawrence Summers to explain why women might be underrepresented in engineering and science. The phrase met with "deferred success" and Summers had to fight to keep to his job.
"Thought shower" was third and a French word for riff-raff or scum, "la racaille," was fourth thanks to being used by French Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy to describe rioters of Muslim and North African descent in suburbs outside of Paris.
"Out of the mainstream," which Payack said was used to describe the ideology of any political opponent, was fifth and in sixth place was "deferred success" the euphemism for "fail" that Britain's Professional Association of Teachers considered using to bolster students' "self-esteem." The move met with "deferred success."
Seventh on the list was "womyn" for women in order to distance the word from men and eighth was using C.E. (Common Era) for A.D (Latin for "Year of Our Lord") so as to be more neutral in dates.
Ninth on the top 10 list was words and phrases that either de-Christianize the Christian holidays or neuter their genders. For example "God Rest Ye Merry Persons" replaces "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Seasons Greetings" replaces "Merry Christmas."
In 10th place was a move aimed at the heart of Australian culture when security staff were banned from using the word "mate" to address members of parliament. The MPs rebelled and said not being called "mate" was unpatriotic. Pretty fucked up if ya ask me!!

How to Carve a Turkey!!!!
1. Choose a sharp, thin-bladed carving knife. Running your knife along the bottom of the turkey, find the places where the thighbones meet the body.
2. Slip your knife into the joint to separate thigh from body on each side.
3. Separate the drumstick from the thigh using the same technique (cut through the joint, not the bone, wiggling the drumstick to locate the joint).
4. Running your knife along the bone, separate the meat from the thigh and drumstick'try to get as much as possible in one piece.
5. Cut thigh and leg meat into thin slices.
6. Use your knife to find where the wings and body connect.
7. Slip your knife into the joint to separate wings from body on each side.
8. Carve thin slices off one side of the breast, cutting parallel to the breast.
9. Repeat with the other side of the breast.
Tips:
If you are carving soon after roasting, cover the turkey with foil and let it stand for 15 minutes first.
Cut dark meat before light meat, as it will stay moist longer.
The key in removing thighs, legs, and wings from the turkey carcass is to run your knife along the carcass until you find the places where bones meet. By cutting between joints, and not through bones, you can disconnect bones without much fuss. If you try to saw through a bone, though, you'll take a long time, even if your knife can do it, and make a mess in the process!
