im a lil weepy today. have been since yesterday. it happens for no reason. anyhoo.....

how many of ya seen the pope john paul II movie last night on abc? i did! ya know, its just amazing how they can find actors to portray real people! it was a swell movie, inspiring, even! i wept thru most of it. it was a fast 2 hours, and they just portrayed the highlights of his amazing life; how his mother died; then later on his older brother with the scarlett fever, his brother was a doctor. then soon afterward, coming home from school to find his father dead on the eve of the german occupation of poland. did you know briefly he had a girlfriend? but it was not to be, as she was jewish, and she had to flee to palestine. then he went into hiding and became a priest. and how he fought the oppression of the communists after the war, and the speeches he made during the 1960's that caught the ear of pope paul VI. and finally, his election to pontiff in 1978.

sunday, cbs is showing their version of his life and in more detail. hopefully i will be able to watch that one too. something to look forward to!

well, i got me some renters insurance now, so all my junk is insured. 2 types of insurance i never heard of until recently, renters insurance and cat insurance. i got em both! is that progress, or what?

i know i told you folks, that i dont really celebrate xmas or put up a tree, why bother? but, i was a lil inspired yesterday, one of the tenants that gratefully moved over here from the rio grande gave me a box of xmas lights, so i put em up outside:

now thats as far as i am willing to go. so there!!

speaking of tenants; yesterday was just plain shitty. one came by and told me that hes convinced that people are getting into his apartmant thru the attic door in the bathroom. i strongly convinced him that its impossible, and that no one has done this, and i have secret ways that i cannot tell you about that i see everything around here.

then, another tenant came by and told me his oven was talking to him, and now hes afraid to use it. i told him that i would put a work order in and have the maintence guy look at it, and gave him a light bulb, and told him to replace the bulb with this special one over the stove. he dont cook anyway, he goes downtown every day to eat.

then, another hapless wonder came by, hes getting recertified soon, and i need his social security printout from him, and he dont seem to understand the concept about that.

sometimes, i wish i was living on an amtrak train again.

bar hosts 81st burglary

BERLIN (Reuters) - Brigitte Hoffmann wishes that her bar was not such a hit with some Berliners -- on Wednesday burglars robbed it for the 81st time in 12 years.

"Why does it always have to be me?" she asked on Thursday.

She said some seven televisions, 15 stereos, three telephones and countless bottles of schnapps had been stolen from the "Tages-Bar" in the eastern district of Treptow.

"In January, robbers even rang up a sex hotline," the 61-year-old Hoffmann told Reuters by telephone. "I am not going to be intimidated, no, I'm going to fight," she said.

Hoffmann's regular clients, who presented her with flowers last month to mark the occasion of the 80th break-in, have taken to guarding the bar themselves.

Police have only twice caught offenders red-handed!

Very, very frequent flyer..

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - After two months of zig-zagging across Canada by plane, frequent flyer Marc Tacchi has reached his goal of accumulating one million miles of credits -- and become something of an Internet celebrity in the process.

On his blog "The Great Canadian Mileage Run 2005", Tacchi reported on Wednesday that he had racked up 1,003,625 mileage points and spent 56 of the last 61 days in an airplane.

"I myself need to get to bed in a prone position for some serious rest," he wrote.

The 30-year-old embarked on his venture using Air Canada's North America Unlimited Pass -- a C$7,000 ticket that allowed passengers limitless travel within the continent between October 1 and November 30.

Frequent fliers programs, like Air Canada's Aeroplan, are designed to promote customer loyalty by allowing people to upgrade to better seats or book free flights in the future

"I just sort of moved it to a new level," Tacchi joked in an interview last week at the Vancouver International Airport before boarding another airplane.

A typical day would start with a 10 a.m. flight to Victoria, British Columbia, about 70 km (45 miles) from Vancouver. He would fly back and fourth between the two cities about six times and then catch an overnight flight 4,300 km (2,700 miles) to Toronto.

In Toronto, he would immediately board a return flight.

Since he began documenting his travels on the Internet, Tacchi has garnered the attention of international media, and even has agents in Los Angeles seeking to sell his story.

"People were calling my girlfriend's boss at work, saying 'Hey, did you hear about that guy'," Tacchi said. "I don't even know how it all became real."

By reaching the one million mile goal, Tacchi gets the equivalent of about 10 round-trip business class flights from Canada to Australia, which he has estimated would normally cost about C$70,000.

He plans to redeem his travel points to take his family to Miami at Christmas, then maybe go to Hong Kong or Thailand.

Tacchi works as a contract pilot. Once a week, he flies a Boeing 747 cargo plane to Europe or Asia.

well, thats all there is, there is no more; at least for now! breaking news you can use at once! ta da! who keeps breaking the news? and who fixes it?
