ok, a lil something to chew on here!
i seen last nights law and order, special victims unit last night, and it got me to think....
these 2 women had in vitro fertilisation around the same time, and gave birth weeks apart from each other; now they never met before at all.
7 years later, this little girl was almost kidnapped in the park. while the cops investigate, 2 suspects pop up and they are private investigators for this one woman who INSISTS the lil girl is HERS. now this poor woman lost her husband in a car wreck.
during the investigation, the woman and the private investigators are charged with kidnapping; further, it turns out the woman is right, they checked the DNA and the lil girl IS hers, but....
the doctor who performed the in virto took her eggs and put them into the lil girls birth mother without her consent, and the woman whos hubby got killed in a car wreck, turns out her baby was with her hubby at the time and she did not know this, so the dead baby girl and the kidnapped lil girl were sisters, they had the same DNA, the kidnapped girls parents didnt know this!
SO, we have this poor woman who lost her hubby and baby girl on one side, and on the other we have this couple with this now confused lil girl who was kidnapped again by the poor woman who insists she is hers, and the doctor whom performed the in vitro, in the middle.
the poor woman goes on trial for kidnapping, and the prosecutor feels that she is gonna lose this case, so she turns to detective stabler for advice, and she realises that this is never gonna end, if the poor woman is convicted, she will pursue her daughter when she gets out of jail, and if she is aquitted, she will fight for custody, tearing this lil girl and her birth family apart. what to do, what to do.
detective stabler explains the power of a parent and child to the prosecutor, in that a parent will die for the child, will do anything to protect the child; he refers to king solomon in the bible;...take a sword and cut the child in 2, and give one half to one and the other half to the other..but solomon didnt have to cut the child in half...
during the trial, the lil girl is on the witness stand, the prosecutor says to the girl, do you know that she is your "egg mother" do you know what that means? the lil girl, fearing that she is going to be taken away from her mommy and daddy and will be given to the woman who kidnapped her starts to panic and cry out on the witness stand, the woman on trial sees this and it breaks her heart, she stands up and tells the judge she is thru fighting, she will plead guilty to kidnapping, and will never bother the lil girl again.
as for the slease doctor who started this whole mess, it turns out that he took more eggs from the woman and implanted them into other women....
the doctor did not get prosecuted as there was no crime comitted by him.
