its been foggy here in the land of salt and pepper all week long! no sun, no nothing! just fog. one tv weather idiot calls it an "inversion" another moron calls it "smog" what it is, its a clump of atmosphere lingering over the area {dark and seedy cloud looms overhead} keeping all the sun and the warm air away from here! and its planning on staying here for a few more days! i dunno whats worse, seattle rain or this shit! at least with seattle rain, the sun makes a brief appearence every few hours or so!
how many of you people my age or above, recall the winter of 78? february, 1978 to be exact!! i was 19 at the time, in the navy, gung ho, and living north of boston, and stationed at the boston navy yard; and guess what i had to do that vicious day? i had to report for duty, or else!! i had a 1970 ford ranchero, all decked out in the latest fashion statement of the time, rusty-o-rust, all under the car! you can tell this car been places just by the rust alone!!
i was not allowed to drive my car that day, no one was!! the snow was ass-cheek deep, and the busses were not running!!! nothing was, it was all shut down! if i refused to show up for duty, rest assured, i would be disiplined! after all, i was a E-2, 2nd lowest on the totem pole! so, i had to walk the 6 miles or so to the navy yard, i went across the mystic river bridge, and you dont walk across that bridge normally; through downtown boston, and over to the navy yard! as i reported for duty, my division chief and a bunch of other sailors told me i was famous!! FAMOUS?? what the hell for?? turns out, they were watching the news, and a news helicopter was flying over the bridge and seen me walking across that swaying monster, and took pictures!! sheesh!! we all had a good laff about that one for awhile; and turns out we had to stay there for the next 3 days, all we did was sit around, and play cards, and listen to the chief and others tell bullshit sea stories!!
i seen the pics on tv of all the frozen freezo places! you poor people back east got slammed real good! so, how ya holding up? at least ya got the internet to make the time pass! did ya have to goto work? or did ya stay home, and stay toasty warm?
NYPD BLUE is on tonight; just 6 more episodes (SOB) <----thats not crying, thats son of a bitch! this sucks!! THEY ARE TAKING A GREAT SHOW OFF THE AIR AND REPLACING IT WITH SOME SHIT STAIN KNOCK OFF THAT WONT LAST!!! at least when they cancelled THE PRACTICE, they replaced it with BOSTON LEGAL, which is a funnny, great show!! i look forward to sunday nights so i can watch!!
when BLUE goes, at least then i can turn to NBC and see law and order, SVU!! now thats a show i havent been able to see cause i need to watch BLUE! and i dont have a vcr to tape the show, so now im march, when blue goes i can watch all the repeats of SVU that i missed!! i decided i aint watching some dumb ass unrealistic blind cop show! sheesh!
did ya see the tonight show last night? jay leno just did a swell job in honouring johnny, it was good to see don rickles!! drew carey looked bigger and no crewcut anymore, and a lil goatee spouting up there!! heheheee!!i just wish that it went 90 minutes for just this once like the old days! that way, they coulda had more people on there! and K.D. Lang!! she sings good, but what was that she was singing?? i couldnt make out the lyrics!!! i dont listen to her songs as a normal thing, but i do like her voice, she does sing good! they shudda had her on just a lil earlier, cause after her song the show was over (SOB) <---- now, THATS tears!!
ah well, what to do today......well later on im gonna help chaosdaily my pal whom introduced me to diaryland here, and help her format the hard drive on an old laptop! i MAY goto the library also today, depends if i get motivated enuff!! now, tomorrow, and thursday, i'm working from 9 to 5 for doyle, as he has managers meetings togo to. so i'm in charge here wednesday and thursday!!! that will give me 64 hours for the pay period! which ends monday the 31st!! and if i dont work anymore between thursday and sunday, cause sunday, i work from 1 am to 9 am at that point i will have 72 hours!! 72 times 8!! thats a hunk of cash!!! not bad for a "fill in" part time job!!
well, im gonna start cooking breakfast now, todays breakfast grub along with the rest of the menu is listed below! hava slap happy day! and feed the cat, and keep him inside too, its freezo out there!!
