life goes on!

well, i am all refreshed, wide eyed and bushy tailed, and ready to go!!!

today, is march 15. its my oldest suviving son sean's 24th birthday. i hope he is doing all right in life. i havent seen him since 1991. see what alcohol does? before you say, wait a minute, i drink, and im doing ok. well thats all fine and dandy, some people can drink and still function well in society, and not have any problems because of it, but other people, like myself, cannot drink alcohol without suffering consequences.
it does hurt that i cannot see him and be involved in his life, but that is too bad, because i was a drunken asshole, rotten father, etc, etc.. i firmly believe that if sean wants to see me, he can find me good enough just by checking the internet. however, since sean has NEVER seen me sober the first 5 years of his life, then was influenced by his mother and other people, he most likely does not want to see me now. thats life. so theres no need to say to me, im sorry, etc, etc. its really ok. i know i fucked up big time, and it is my fault things are the way they are, and there is nothing i can do to change things. if sean wants to see me, im ok with that, but i am not going to track him down, and invade his life. even though i am his father, i am a virtual stranger to him. now do not look at this as being "sad" but look at it as a lesson in life when you let alcohol take control of your life. i am an alcoholic, recovering, and i am not cured. if i pick up just one drink, all that i have achieved, however minute, will be destroyed. one drink to an alcoholic is never enough, and one drink is too much.
i just love my new brita water filter!! it is well worth the money i paid for this wonderful device! it makes coffee stand up and salute like it should! yum! and i just love getting a glass of water, and looking inside the glass of water, and see it so clean, no specimens swimming about! just crystal clear and sharp, and best of all, no after taste!! what a wonderful invention!!
i got another email from the asshole i sold my brand new monitor to. seems like he took offence to my response to him regarding the shit he is trying to pull. awww, too bad! for those who dont know, heres the deal.
i bought this computer i have now in december. brand new, right outta the box, never been used! fresh and crisp! so a few weeks ago or so, i had an urge to buy a flat screen monitor for my puter, and i did, meanwhile, i put the monitor that came with this puter up for sale on ebay, cheap. 75 bucks. this guy in canada bought it and i shipped it, taking great pains to wrap the monitor in a heavy shipping blanket. it worked just fine when i shipped it. now he gets the monitor, and 3 days later, he emails me and sez that the monitor does not work, and did it work when i shipped it. i responded to this by telling him, yes, it worked just fine when i shipped it, and that he should ensure that it is plugged in, and installed properly, it is a brand new monitor, and there is nothing wrong with it.
then a few days later, he emails me and asks why havent i responded to the emails? and that why have i shipped him a monitor that dont work? well, i tell ya, i know god damm good and well that he recieved the emails. they were sent thru ebay, and dammit, this asshole is trying to pull some shit! he probabaly wants his 75 bucks back, but he aint getting it! not from me!! he probabaly wanted a free monitor, so what a good scam it is to buy a monitor, then claim it dont work, then cry to ebay and paypal, that it dont work, blah blah! i gave it to him with both barrels! i told him, what kinda shit do ya think ya trying to pull? theres nothing wrong with the monitor, you own it, i am not a store, there is no guarntees here, and if the monitor is fucked up, file a claim with ups!
well, i got a response from him that he will complain to ebay and paypal! see, thats the scam here. buy something on ebay, claim it dont work to him, thane get ya money back from ebay! well fuck that! i aint the one! and let me tell you, if i hear from ebay or paypal about this, i will tell them whats up with this, and that i am not going for it.
my wonderful pal, yarnsmith whom i asked for advice about this, explained to me that if i dont make this right, and offer this guy a refund, and have him ship the monitor back to me, that he can put a bad word on ebay about me and that i will have a hard time selling stuff on ebay. she then sez to me, that once i get the monitor back, and then see if its working, and if it aint, then, i can send it back to compaq, since it is under warrenty, and that i am the origional owner. and if there is nuffin wrong with it, i can always resell it.
well, yarnsmith, i value you as a good friend and all around pal, and i understand where ya going with this, but i know and feel that this guy is trying to pull some shit here, and trying to scam a free monitor here, and if i felt for one minute that what this guy sez is true, i would gladly refund his money, and have him ship the monitor back, but my gut tells me he is trying a scam. what i am going to do is this; i'm gonna wait and see if ebay or paypal contacts me about this. then i will explain to them whats happening, and lets see what they say. if ebay or paypal tells me that i have to refund the money, i will do that ONLY when he shipps the monitor back, AND when i test it, it dont work. then and ONLY then will i refund his money. if it does work, i will ship it back to him with PROOF that theres nuffing wrong with it. and he WILL PAY financially for trying to pull some shit! thats what im gonna do. so yarnsmith, please dont be hurt that i will not do exactly as you advise about this, i DO VALUE your opinion, but after thinking on this a great deal, i have com to this decision. so thanky yous and big hug to you!! lets see what happens here.
i been thinking on travelling to good ole san francisco for a few days next month to see a giants game and watch good ole barry bonds hit home runs, and visit with onewetlegand its only 59 bucks on the amtrak, and i went to the giants website to order tickets online, but ya know, the prices online are outrageous!! 10 buck "convenience fee" handling fees, blah blah blah!! it will be cheaper just to goto the ballpark and get a ticket there, as i have never had a problem doin that! and if all else fails, i can still see the game just by going around to mc covey cove and the right field fence and stand there and watch the game for free! thats what i did when the giants was in the world series a coupla years ago! so, im just thinking of the logistics of it all, and see if this is plausable.
well, thats all i got from this end, all is well and im doin swell!!
one more thing before i sign off. i have found over the weekend a brand spankin new diarylander, starofvenusshe is a mom and has schoolkids, and is very intelligent. she has only 35 entries so far, and updates daily. so far i am the only reader she has, so why not take a trip on over to starofvenusand say howdy, and give her a big diaryland welcome!! she seems allright, she needs readers and diaryland pals! so whatta ya say!! go visit her today!! yay!!
