THE QUESTIONS

1. Who are the women in your life who have influenced you the most, and what impact have they had on you?

A. i'd say, miss listernick, my grade 1 teacher, had the most inffuencing! i was totally enthralled by her, and for many years, i would often quote her in many of life's situations. i remember being very upset when i got promoted to grade 2, and discovered that she would not be my teacher. i didnt understand that. and then somewhere along the line, i discovered that she was getting married and she quit being a teacher, never to be heard from again! i never knew her 1st name, nor did i ever learn who it was she married. i havent seen her in 40 years or so. if she is still alive, she would be in her 70's for sure.

then in grade 5, there was mrs devlin from northern ireland, whom taught us about the IRA and glorified them and their "struggle". it was only later on in life that i discovered what a heinous terrorist organisation the IRA really is. she also taught us how to use a pen, instead of those fat red pencils we use to have. and she was great to talk to. when i had a problem, i was able to goto her and discuss it. learned alot about world history from her. i was a bully in school by then, and at the time i scoffed her about it. she would say that someday a woman would come along and cut me down to size. i laughed. 20 years later, i was crying.

2. What is the most patriotic act a person can do?

A. this is a no-brainer. the most patriotic act a person can do is sacrifice their life in service to the country to preserve the freedom that we have here in the best country in the world. our freedom here in the United States is second to NONE! yes, our politics may be a lil screwy, but still and all, the freedom to say and do what we want, and the ability to challenge the government without fear, is by itself, very unique. if we dont like what the government is doing, we can stand up en-masse and change it, for example.

3. Please tell us about the one true love who got away.

A.the one true love that got away, is my ex-wife. and i threw her away. if i was not such an evil sick drunk, rotten husband, lousy father, and all around asshole, i'd still be married. i met her 28 years ago when i was in the navy, and was madly in love. see what happens when you let alcohol ruin your life? i was a real live asswipe and i didnt know how good i had had it.

4. Have you ever hit a point in your life when you thought: "This is the lowest I can possibly go," and will you share something about that moment?

A. actually, there are 3 moments here. the 1st was in 1986 when i had an alcohol induced heart attack, and i thought i was going to die. i knew that the booze was killing me, and right then and there, i made a vow to GOD that if he decided to let me live, that i would never touch another drop of alcohol ever again. that was 19 years ago. and when i started to goto AA and got a sponsor, he told me that it would get worse before it got better. 7 months later, my youngest son had died from a fall out of a 2nd floor window in the early morning of july 27th, 1986, as we were asleep. he was throwing clothes out of a window, and leaning over the widow and watching them fall. that was the very worst that could happen, and i stayed sober thru that, but GOD's life changes were not done with me yet. in the summer of 1989, i was charged with CAPITAL MURDER in my son's death, it was a lively attempt by my ex wife, in association with some government officials to be rid of me once and for all. i spent 2 and 1/2 years locked away, had a coupla nervous breakdowns, pumped chock full of psychotropic drugs, strapped down and beaten, and the ultimate very lowest point that came to me was the moment in the courtroom, when the jury had reached a verdict, at that point, when the judge asked the foreman if they had reached a verdict, and i had to stand and face the jury, my whole body had started shaking uncontrollably, and all i could think about was to hide under the table, and at the moment the jury forman opened his mouth to start to say, at that PRECISE POINT BEFORE HE UTTERED A SOUND WAS THE ABSOLUTE LOWEST POINT EVER IN MY LIFE; and when i heard him say "WE THE JURY, IN THE ABOVE ACTION FIND THAT THE DEFENDANT, ARTHUR WILLIAM CALDWELL, INNOCENT OF THE CRIME OF CAPTIAL MURDER IN THE DEATH OF STEVEN ANDREW CALDWELL" to this very day, 14 years later. recalling THAT still sends shivers throughout my entire being. so you see, things DID get worse before they got better. and i have stayed sober thru it all, because you just DO NOT break a VOW with GOD.

5. If you were king for a day, what are the first three things you'd do?

A. now this, i would have to think about. i think that 1. i would distribute all the wealth thruout the kingdom to all the poor and homeless, with the intent to abolish poverty. a roof over everyones head and a steak on every plate, so to speak. and 2. to make sure that every able bodied person had a job to support themselves and their families. and 3 to ensure that no one was left out in the cold.

WELL, FOLKS, i hope you enjoyed reading this fine strange but absoultely true facts about me and my life. nows the time to speak up and leave a snappy comment. cmon, dont bee shy, free speech practiced here! we love comments!!

i am sorry that i had to change the template. i know many of you enjoyed seeing the newspaper template that i had previously, but all those images went up to diaryland heaven. maybe they will come back, i dunno. some have told me that they like this layout better, and that the old one had too much stuff in it, and was confusing. well folks, i am still new to this haveing only been here since last july. (for some reason, july seems to be a piviotal month for me) well, i promise you here and now, i will NOT clutter up this diary with a whole lot of extras. i am going to keep this page simple. KISS= Keep It Simple, Stupid! heheeee! it is still the DAILY DRIVEL, and one thing i would like to change, but i just dont know how, is to change the phrase up there next to the pretty kitty from saying, what are you looking at, to the daily drivel. if anyone out there knows how i can do that. i will be forever grateful! thanks!!SPECIAL UPDATE FROM THE NEWSROOM OF WHO DID IT, AND RAN, INK!!!
