03:58 - Tuesday, Aug. 09, 2005 Im watching the NASA channel, for the shuttle!! Right now, as of 3:20 am, they have decided that the shuttle will land at Edwards AFB in california, due to the weather in florida! Cross ya fingers touchdown at Edwards will be about 5:12 am California time! Yesterday was a ho-hum day here, out of boredom, I went to walmart for a lil food shopping and MILK! I been on a milk kick lately, drinking 4 half gallons in as many days, and yes, I drink right from the bottle, so to speak!! Hahahaaa! Remember when u was a kid and ya went into the fridge and ya mom caught ya drinking from the bottle? Hahaaa! Well, at this time of day I am easily amused!! Right now, discovery is over western Australia, and all is well so far so good! Sixty years ago today, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki. About 30 percent of the city was blown to smithereens and, in all, nearly 150,000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were killed or injured. In 1173, construction of the (Leaning) Tower of Pisa began, and it took two freakin' centuries to complete. And we think the Big Dig has gone over-schedule! If you want to see the view from the Tower of Pisa, lean over sideways and watch the Tower of Pisa webcam. When I was a rug rat we usta call this the leaning tower of pizza! Ta ta for now!!! If anything special happens, I will write a second entry!! FACT OF THE DAY Engineer Thomas Telford is born today in 1757 in Westerkirk, Scotland. Telford represented much of the spirit of the Industrial Revolution in Britain. He is best known for designing and building bridges, roads and canals to link the industrial areas of the country together in a way not seen previously and using materials such as cast iron to build them.
