silliness!!!
ok, tell the truth time!!!

down the block, at the supermarket here, for just 70 bucks, they will sell you a cooked 20 pound turkey with all the junk that goes with it, you know, mashed taters, yams, veggies, stuffing, etc etc etc.. or a ham with all the junk. so, my question to you is, how many of you folks out there are gonna cheat! (hahaa) and goto the supermarket and get a already cooked thanksgiving dinner? i'm thinking that my market down the street aint the only one on the planet offering up such a treat! also, how many of ya gonna go for the free food thats being offered in your community? and how many folks here are gonna slave over a hot kitchen, and whip up a treat that the whole family will eat?

as for me, i will be working on thanksgiving day, 16 hours! from 9 am til 1 am! also, on thanksgiving like last year, there will be free eating at the delta center (the best) and the greek church down the street (second place) and at the mission (third place) and the shelter (the worst) all these free eats are within a 5 block radius of the hotel, and i will be going to the delta center!

speaking of free food!! on monday the 14th from 5 pm to 9 pm. golden corral resturants will be offering up a free buffet dinner to all veterans, and military personnel!!! so, if you are a vet, or still in the military, and you have a golden corral, its time to eat on monday night!!

what i would like to do is step into my time machine, and sling myself 100 years into the future, and see how the innernet evolved!! can you imagine how many email messages i would have? hahahaaa!!!
would diaryland still be here? pogo? yahoo? how bout the evil AOL?

diaryland entry for november 12, 2105... howdy folks! its been 100 years since my last entry here on the daily drivel! hahahaa!!!

then i can tell folks, hey, i was here at the beginning of the innernet, and they would all look at me like i am nuts, (which i am!) and laugh like we did when that idiot al gore told us he invented the innernet!

well, its saturday, and i have to work again from 9 to 5, so heres some blogthings!!

Turkey Chili Recipe:

2 cups chopped onion
4 garlic cloves, chopped fine
1 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
2 (35 oz) cans stewed tomatoes, crushed
2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained
2 Tbsp tomato paste
3/4 cup chicken or turkey stock
2 Tbsp chili powder (or up to 4 Tbsp if you like it really hot)
1 Tbsp ground cumin
1 Tbsp dried hot red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 Tbsp salt, plus more if desired to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 to 4 cups of shredded, cooked turkey meat
Sugar

Shredded cheddar cheese, chopped red onion, sour cream for optional garnish.

1 In a large, 8-quart, thick-bottom pot, cook the onion and green pepper over medium high heat, stirring, until golden, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, chili powder, cumin, and red pepper flakes and cook, stirring, for a minute or two more. Add a bit more olive oil if needed.

2 Add tomatoes, tomato paste, stock. beans, oregano, salt, pepper, and cooked turkey meat. Bring mixture to a simmer and reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, for an hour.

3 Salt to taste. Add 1 to 3 teaspoons of sugar to take the edge of the acidity of the tomatoes if desired.

The chili may be made in advance and chilled for 2 days, or frozen for 2 months.

Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped red onion, and or sour cream. Serve alone, over rice, or with corn bread.

Makes about 12 cups. Serves 8.
