happy saturday after festivus, and before crispness!!!
thy time is nigh, is u ready yet??
i been working my a$$ off!!! 16 hrs from 5 pm friday night to 9 am saturday morn, then run like hell home, feed the cat sleep til 3 and come back and work from 5 pm to 1 am, then 15 buck cab ride home, sleep feed the cat, come back monday work 9 to 5.
i will have 82 hours. one week. sleep? whats that!!!??? wheeeeeeeeee!!!

ever watch the venerable tee vee show DRAGNET created by, and starred in by JACK WEBB??? what? never heard of DRAGNET??? well u is way too young to be reading this!! go watch cartoons!!!
anyhoo, back in the drinking daze, early 80's, one of the times the X gave me the heave ho, i was in west los angeles, and i was staying at a holiday inn, just laying about and watching DRAGNET on tee vee, when all of a sudden, in this particular episode, there was a car chase which ended up in a construction parking lot.
and i looked, and they showed the area around where the chase was and the construction site was, and it dawned on me, this looked oddly familiar. now i know i havent seen this particular episode before, so i got up and looked out the window, and ya know what? the street and intersection where the dragnet car chase was, and the construction parking lot was, it was right there!!! dang!! they showed the street signs too, and sure enuff, there it was!! and the construction parking lot? it was this holiday inn where i was staying at that they was building at the time!!! aint that freaky??
later on a ways down in life, i had stopped in a catholic catherdal on santa monica blvd. and went inside for a time. then i left. it was a pretty huge catherdal. round this time, i was staying at the kennedy hotel in long beach. just an old flea bag that the welfare paid for, roaches included. anyhoo, there i was watchin dragnet again. remember the old sad christmas episode, where some one stole the baby jesus from the nativity scene in the church, and the lil mexican boy took sgt friday into the catherdal? well that was the catherdal that i was in for a while, years later!!! freaky again!!!
in my 1st year of soberity, i was working at the los angeles rescue mission as part of my soberity education, and clancy was my sponsor, and he was renowned the AA world over for bringing people like me to soberity, and he ran the mission. one day, some people from the tee vee series hill street blues came by looking for extras for a scene that required homeless looking guys. what better place to get homeless looking fellas than a rescue mission.
i was picked out of the group to be thrown up against a fence and rousted by ed marinaro who played officer joe coffey!! and for that days work, i made 300 bucks, and all the food i can eat!!! also got to look UP at betty thomas, who played lucy bates, and i knew she was tall, im 6 ft. she must be 6'3" or 6' 4"!!! yikes!!! that was scary!!
well, a few months later, the X decided to take me back, and one night we was watching hill street blues. i had already told her about my lil extra scene, and she didnt believe me, until she seen the episode and that particular scene with her own eyes!!! heheheee....
well, my back is a lil better, and im doing ok emotionally. part of the problem there is i think is mostly when im at home and nothing to do. and nothing on tee vee. ah well!
christmas day will consist of SLEEPING!!!!!!!
