NEW YORK Dec 27, 2005 Michael Vale, the actor best known for his portrayal of a sleepy-eyed Dunkin' Donuts baker who said "Time to make the doughnuts," has died. He was 83.

Vale died Saturday in New York City of complications from diabetes, according to son-in law Rick Reil.

Vale's long-running character, "Fred the Baker," for the doughnut maker's ad campaign lasted 15 years until he retired in 1997.

Canton, Mass.-based Dunkin' Donuts said in a statement that "became a beloved American icon that permeated our culture and touched millions with his sense of humor and humble nature."

Vale was born in Brooklyn and studied acting at the Dramatic Workshop in New York City with classmates Tony Curtis, Ben Gazzara and Rod Stieger.

A veteran of the Broadway stage, film and television, Vale appeared in more than 1,300 TV commercials.

heres something from the stupid shit file....

A District Court judge canceled a temporary restraining order against talk-show host David Letterman, saying he didnt have jurisdiction over the matter. The woman who filed the order 59-year-old Colleen Nestler appeared in court and said while she knew the likelihood of the restraining order being granted was slim, Letterman constantly harasses me, is into mind control and has plans that include me, and Im trying to stop him.

At one point, Nestler appeared to threaten Letterman.

Should this man ever come to New Mexico and let it be recorded in this court if he comes near me or sends someone on his behalf, I will break their legs and establish proof of my story, she said.

Break their legs? asked District Judge Daniel Sanchez, who had signed Nestlers application for a temporary restraining order Dec. 15.

Yes, I will, Nestler said. I have been driven by this man since 1993, and you think that proves me a loony. But its the only recourse I have for tangible proof.

Sanchez told Nestler he wouldnt tolerate threats being made in his courtroom.

Its not a threat, she said. Im saying it mainly because I want the court to know I tried to avoid this. The man has plans to include me in his plans, and I refuse.

In her application for the restraining order, Nestler said she wanted a judge to force Letterman to stop thinking of her. She accused the longtime talkshow host of mental cruelty and said he was responsible for her bankruptcy and sleep deprivation . In a six-page , typed letter accompanying the application, Nestler wrote that Letterman had been communicating with her through the television using code words, eye expressions and songs sung by his guests.

At one point, Letterman asked her to marry him in a teaser before his show when he said, Marry me Oprah, Nestler wrote.

In court Tuesday, Nestler told Sanchez she wanted to read a statement, but the judge advised her only to address issues regarding jurisdiction or hed cut her off.

Nestler who told the judge she moved to Santa Fe on Oct. 2 said she didnt understand such legal issues and asked how Letterman might be precluded from coming to New Mexico.

Whos to stop him from taking a flight here? she said. Whos to stop him from dressing up in some disguise? He has intentions with me.

Later in the proceeding, Sanchez who said it is his common practice to read filings in a case thoroughly asked Nestler whether her allegations against Letterman took place in New Mexico.

They havent , no, she said. They have all taken place when I was in the East and before I moved to the East.

Sanchez then clarified the question, asking if any contacts took place in New Mexico between her and Letterman.

You could say so, yes, Nestler said. In subtle ways. He constantly harasses me. Hes a very powerful man. Hes into mind control. Hes into control and manipulation.

Sanchez asked her the nature of the contacts.

He has called just to remind me to think of him by calling and hanging up, she said. Its a trick hes done. He will use any device at his hand thats subtle and undetectable by any court of law.

Nestler admitted she had no proof of the alleged phone calls.

Pat Rogers, Lettermans Albuquerque lawyer, argued the order exceeded the courts jurisdiction and said Letterman is entitled to protection of his legal rights and his reputation.

Not long after, Sanchez signed the order voiding the temporary restraining order.

Outside the courtroom, Nestler refused to provide reporters with a copy of the statement she wanted to read in court, saying shed release it in a day or two. She also said she had to go to work but wouldnt say where shes employed.

But despite the order being canceled, she appeared at least partially satisfied. I have achieved my purpose, she said. The public knows that he cant come near me.

This is why I dont use MSN MESSENGER:

Virus Masquerades as MSN Messenger Beta

MSN Messenger users who may think they're getting a sneak peak at the latest version of Microsoft's instant messaging client are in for a nasty surprise, a Finnish security firm is warning.

A variation of the Virkel instant messaging virus has been circulating amongst MSN users, posing as a leaked beta version of MSN Messenger 8, according to F-Secure.

The virus uses the MSN Messenger client to send download links to all of an infected user's contacts, and connects the user's machine to a second "botnet" server, which could then could be used to install unauthorized software on the machine.

Infection Spreads!

Victims are being infected by clicking and installing the BETA8WEBINSTALL.EXE file that is being distributed via these download links, F-Secure says.

"There is no MSN Messenger 8 yet. Not in public beta anyway." writes F-Secure Chief Research Officer Mikko Hypponen, writing on a company blog.

Microsoft recently released MSN Messenger 7.5.
A representative of Microsoft's public relations agency was not able to comment for this story.

Spam Bake

1 Can of Spam - slice 1/4" thick
1 Can Crushed Pineapple
1 Can White, New Potatoes
1 Can Yams
1 Tbsp. Butter
1 Cup Dark Brown Sugar

In a large, double piece of heavy duty foil (shiny side in), place the Spam slices. Cover it with the potatoes and yams. Layer it with 1/2 a cup of the brown sugar and the pineapples. Layer again with the other 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the butter. Fold the foil from the top until it is tight around the contents of the packet. Do the same with the ends of the foil. Place on hot coals, and cook it for 10 minutes. Turn it over, and cook it again for another 10 minutes. It's quick, and very tasty! You can also prepare this beforehand and keep in a large baggie, kept in a cooler, until it's ready to be cooked.

Barbecued Black Snake

this is easy!!

after making sure the snake is dead, remove its head a few inches behind the eyes. Slit the snake's underbelly and remove the vein. Peel the skin off like a rubber glove, exposing beautiful white flesh. Cut the meat into 4 inch long portions and chuck it on the bbq, splashing with generous amounts of white wine while turning, and in between mouthfuls...a good cook should never dry out!

Snake flesh has the taste of chicken and the flaky texture of fish, and cooks as quickly as fish. Yum! so when they ask, hey ma, whats for supper? you can say, "chicken & fish!!" and they will say yummithy!!
