wednesday fun, described today
chaos day
not chaosdaily hahhaaa!!!
yesterday hi anxiety ruled as my auction was winding down!! as it ended, i was soon to discover that the winning bidder came from south africa! aw, shit! i thought! this is gonna be a problem! oh, why me! moan and groan! pffttt!
well the final bid was around 68 bux, and i sent an invoice to the winner, and we went round and round over the shipping costs. seems that fuckin e-bay dont know proper postal rates! this guy was claiming that ebay sez the shipping costs is 17 bux! well, thats fine and dandy if ya sending a letter! it finally got thru this guys thick head that the package weighs MORE than 4 pounds, (4 pounds, 9 oz.) and that global priority mail is not available for this international shipment, the max weight for this package was 4 pounds! something that friggen ebay dont tell ya!~
so, we settled on airmail parcel post, and the guy will get the hard drive in 4 to 7 days.~~~~~~~~~~ woo woo!!!
next up.
the night before last was blackout night, the lights went out here twice, and unbeknownst to me screwed up the computer that runs the camera in my office. people came by to pay rent, and a new tenant moved in, so now we are at full capacity again. then, after the guy moved in, he discovers the big picture window was cracked clean across!!! i never noticed this, doyle never noticed this, and its on the inside window, (we have double pane windows) and you cant tell by looking at it from a distance. so me and doyle was on the fone calling glass places looking for the cheapest prices, and after a time, we found one.
so now.
it took me 3 hours to get the office computer back up and running. for some strange reason, the computer calendar was set at jan 18, 2089!!! so, after i reset the calendar to the correct date, and rebooting for the umteenth time, the camera programme finally came back online.
then,
it was a trip to the post office, and the line was long like at christmas!! i gouess that people who have real jobs come after work, and goto the post office. customs and insurance forms to be filled out, and at the scale that the clerk had was not right, it was off by a few ounces, and i was very adamant in telling this clerk the package weighs 4 pounds 9 ounces EXACTLY!!! not 5 pounds, not 4 pounds, 11 ounces, not 4 pounds, 9,7 ounces, but 4 pounds 9 ounces exactly!!! after getting a supervisor, and getting a proper scale, i commented on how much the post office had made today by ripping off people with this inaccurate scale!! and these mongrels shot me evil glances, and i shot evil glance daggers back. i win! poo.
i went thru my extra keyboards last nite, and found only one that worked, and discovered that the usb port on the front of my puter is not working right. so im dealing with that. and explaining to the new tenant that DOGS are not allowed on the property.
so,
its a gloomy day outside today but, as the sun is rising in the sky, the dank clouds are splitting up, and it looks like it just might be a sunshiny day! today, im gonna go thru all my junk, and see what i will keep and what i will throw away, this place is getting cluttered, and i need to get offa this thing, and actually sort out the junk, instead of just moving things about.
today is the ex's birthday. i hope she is having a crappy day, where ever she is.
anyhoo, tomorrow is payday!! yay! and time to pay the rent!!
answer to rowsbud72 yea its possible that the firewall settings are not allowing you to see the graphics. some companies are computer stupid, and block things they should not be blocking. sheesh. if you can convince your tech to loosen his tie, maybe then you can see the graphics.
