Here is something to consider if you are still undecided about the candidates. Perhaps you can't see any difference between the two. Perhaps you figure you want to vote for the least of two evils. Perhaps you figure they are both just politicians and they are both corrupt.

Perhaps you think all the mess we are in is George Bush's fault....I am not here to defend George Bush but I do think we need to think things through, rather than react to sound bytes and rhetoric put forth by the press and campaign ads.

George Bush only represents one branch of government....he is no more responsible for everything than the congress and judiciary are responsible for everything.

Last time I checked there were 3 branches of government all holding checks over the other to make sure our government remains balanced.

George Bush has a low approval rating.....Congress has an even lower approval rating. So...lets dispel the myth that everything is George Bushes fault.

Here is a good way to help make your decision. If you are still undecided, you are a true independent...you are having trouble deciding because you are not seeing a whole lot of truth telling out there....so...perhaps you should make your decision based on preserving as much as we can, our system of checks and balances.

To some...the Republican Party seems to be controlled by the far right wing.

To some...the Democrats seem to be controlled by the far left.

Most of us in the US, Republican and Democrat are somewhere in the center...we are neither radically liberal nor staunchly conservative.

The congress is currently controlled by extremely left leaning liberals with a low low approval rating....it will surely stay that way after this election or become more so. That's fine....there is room for the liberal point of view in our society.

Barak Obama is an extremely left leaning liberal. Due to the aging of our judiciary, he will be responsible for appointing many of the judges which form the 3rd check against the other two branches of government. The liberal majority in congress will no doubt let these appointments sail through without vetting or without question. These judges interpret the constitution, a very flexible document...they will use their power to create law.

In effect, a vote for Obama is a vote to completely liberalize the country.

Despite the Obama camp's effort to pait McCain as an ultra right wing twin of George Bush, the fact is John McCain is not a far right leaning Republican....he is known for reaching across the aisle. He is known for bucking his own party. While conservative, he is not radically so.

Electing John McCain is the best thing anyone in this country that considers themselves a centrist independent can do.

It will preserve the checks and balances we have in this nation so that both far left leaning liberals, far right leaning conservatives and most of the rest of us....average hard working Americans who fall in between will all have a voice in the future of this country.

We don't need change so much as we need a check on our goverment so that we can keep one train from running on one track all the way off in a direction the majority does not want to go.

I hope this makes sense....I hope this helps you make your decision.
